What We Do

Giving Connecticut’s youth access to the sport of cycling, one rider at a time.

Our Mission

The CT Cycling Advancement Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to better the lives of youth and young adults through the sport of cycling. The CT Cycling Advancement Program ensures that youth in the state of Connecticut have exposure and access to the sport of cycling, with a clear avenue for support and development that allows them to go as far as their ambition and abilities can take them.

Why join the CCAP?

The sport of cycling teaches a child or young adult a wealth of values, social skills and mindsets that help them become successful in every aspect of their life, and the CCAP is proud to provide kids across the state with the opportunity to participate in a safe and positive team-based environment.

Our goal is simple: Introduce cycling and bike racing to kids all over Connecticut. Getting there is a bit more complex but our full-time staff is dedicated to helping kids in our programs fulfill their ambition in cycling, whether it’s riding down the street to their local trailhead or lining up as a professional later in life. Either way and everything in between, we’re here for them.

Community Programming

We provide grants to school and community-based programs and youth cycling clubs across the state, enabling new riders to join us on introductory rides, trail days, and our 40+ seasonal races and public events.

Race Leagues

Our Regional and School teams compete together in Spring, Summer, and Fall leagues with races dotting the state from Fairfield County to the Quiet Corner. The CCAP ensures race fees remain low and affordable for registered riders and all of our events are family friendly, USAC-sanctioned, and professionally produced. Additionally, all of our races are within a reasonable driving distance from most parts of the state, enabling families to spend their days riding - not driving. Race with us!

Fun

We can’t forget about the main reason we ride! Kids registered in our seasonal programs enjoy weekly practices and team rides, often on trails or parks in their own towns. They’ll get to explore their local surroundings with new and returning friends, safely under the guidance of our coaches. The camaraderie and positive relationships built around a foundation of a life-long sport are second to none. Ride with us!
